Food insecurity is a way of life for way too many people in our society. Come join us and learn from Fran Fluhler, Director of Manna House, how this 501(c)3 organization is working to solve the problem. We will tour its recently dedicated greenhouse, see the hydroponic gardens where nutritious food for their clients is grown, have lunch, and participate in a Q&A session with employees. Learn the vision and the innovative approach Manna House is employing to meet its goals. It will boggle your mind, and it is happening right here in our backyard.
Cost per person: $25.00
Because of the response to this trip, some or all mornings from that week will be opened up for additional trips. If you want to participate in this trip, first register online through the LearningQUEST website online registration, and then contact Barbara Kammerud, bjkamm@gmail.com or 256-536-7074, to let her know what days that week you will be able to attend.
All trips will run from 10:30am to 1:30pm. We will take a minimum of 20 participants on any day, so please select multiple days that you will be available. If there are fewer than 20 participants on the only day that you select, then you won’t be able to go.
